Obsession: Jackets

I have always been obsessed with jackets. Every year I look for a new one. Last year I made a rule because I have accumulated so many: If I bring a jacket home, one has to leave. I don't know what it is about jackets, but they are my downfall. I have dedicated an entire closet just to housing them (thank you, Bubb!) I love waking up in the winter and being able to polish off any outfit with the right coat.

I special ordered myself this amazing Jacket from Lily & Jae in Canada during February and have been anxiously awaiting its arrival for months. I had dreams constantly about it and imagined myself cozied up in it's luxurious wool. I love it's mod styling, but the contrasting fact that it's made out of the same fabric they made their blanket out of (which I have on the end of my bed). They are both are so warm and make me wish for fog, rain, and snow just so I can snuggle up in them. I have to admit that they also made a scarf out of the same fabric...and I couldn't resist. Expect to see it popping up in outfits soon!
Lily & Jae is becoming one of my favorite labels. Everything they make has just classic, clean looks with modern styling and made out of cozy and comfortable fabrics. Jump on over to their site to see a gorgeous photoshoot in the snow. Prepare to fall in love with winter and Lily & Jae!

This is my beloved Spiewak jacket that I bought last year. I actually honored my rule and cleared out 4 jackets to bring this one home. It is an incredible rain jacket, which oddly enough I didn't have a real waterproof rain jacket. I love it's rich navy color, and 60's swing coat styling.
Expect the introduction of these marvelous jackets and more in my outfits in Daily Progress blogs!

Mexico!

I'm sorry for the lack of progress over the last 12 days, but I was super busy relaxing in Mexico. I spent the majority of the trip reading, swimming, and exploring. We began our stay in the little town of San Jose Del Cabo. It was a lovely little place with a gorgeous town square, and nightly local bands, fire dancers, and activities. We went out on a water taxi out to see the arch, the little piece of land that divides the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. We drove up to Todos Santos and ate $1 tacos in the street. It was a perfect little getaway.
More photos of inspiration soon to follow!

Day 20: Pink

Today I am wearing a pink and white stripe thermal by Splendid, Gap white shorts, and silver flip flops.

I have gone back through and added layers and layers of paint and reworking tons of areas. The more and more I stared at the painting through the last steps and realizing the colors were too intense. I ended up slowly covering up all the green and layering more teal over the olive green.
Here is a look at the process. I added more black and gray into the silver and dragging out out a little furither. I added more of the tanned leather color right above the band-aid pink.

Here is a detail:
